After looking at the “typical cruise line model” of producing revenue based shore-excursion videos in the early 2000’s we developed a new plan which was introduced into the NCL fleet in early 2002. This was to create a ½ hour show on each port of call,  and selling national advertising sales in (3) structured commercial breaks throughout the show. This provided a revenue stream to both parties which did not exist in the past. It also allowed for larger budgets to produce in cabin programming which resembled network shows which the viewer would be accustomed to watching at home.

Local tour operators, and merchants in the destinations then turned to us to produce private commercials for use in local hotels, and PR videos to promote their business.
